The ancient Byzantine Hippodrome is still visible with its breathtaking monuments and landmarks in the contemporary Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul. First built in the 3rd century, the structure was later expanded and dominated the area. The Serpent Column, the Obelisk of Theodosius from Egypt, the Walled Obelisk and The German Fountain ("The Kaiser Wilhelm Fountain") are the major attractions for this experience of centuries past.
